Things To Know Before Buying An Apple iPad

My opinions are from a personal perspective of a not so techie person. Or someone who has little knowledge of the iPad specifications. This is not meant to discourage you but to correct expectations like mine that you might also have about the iPad. I meant to share this for people who plan to buy an iPad to help you avoid disappointments about your gadget.

As a five day old iPad user, here are a blogger's opinions based on experience.

1. Uploading Images. I love Ipad's two-way camera but i can't upload photos immediately from the iPad to my web albums. It doesn't support flash images so there are buttons like the upload button in the Picasa Web Album that are not clickable using an iPad. Also, tablets are quite new generation and most websites are not updated yet for mobile use.

2. Blogger and Wordpress. No compose mode so editing options are limited. Uploading an image from your ipad library is also a problem. I used a separate computer to upload my photos to web then from there I can get the embed code and use it to my blog post.

Hubby downloaded a free app - Blogbooster, so I can include images to my blog post. You can add two blogs in your account. You can also edit in compose mode using Blogbooster. But the problem is I was allowed to add only 1 blog after I deleted the two blogs that hubby first added. So don't do that mistake ever if you want to use Blogbooster.

There's an app available called Blogpress that has best ratings so I'm still saving for it.

3. Bluetooth. there are compatibility issues with other gadgets. I tried to transfer images from my Samsung Champ phone but the connection failed. We also tried connecting to MacBook Air but no success either.

I believe there are applications for iPad available out there so you can maximize your use of your iPad. And I think you need to turn on your resourcefulness skills which I don't have.

It's still best to really research on the gadget that you want to buy so you know what to expect.

But I'm not returning this iPad to the shop. I still love it for many reasons. That's a different post coming up.
